Listen up my fellow Plies fans: it looks like Christmas is going to be especially good in 2008. Why am I confident that we are all going to have a great Christmas this year? Because our boy Plies is dropping another album on December 16th, which is just nine days before Christmas! Yes everyone, you read that correctly: Plies is hitting us all with another full length album before 2008 even comes to an end.
It was only a couple of months ago (June 10th to be exact) when we were all picking up his Definition of Real album. Plies definitely lived up to the expectations that were set for his second album (personally, he exceeded my expectations), which is exactly why it sold over two hundred thousand copies in its first week out (good enough to land it at the #2 spot on the Billboard 200)!
With a second successful album under his belt, it seems Plies is feeling confident and is ready to get another album out on the streets. Even though most of us have only got to hear one single from the album (Pants Hang Low), Ted Lucas (who is the founder of Plies' record label, Slip-N-Slide) has heard the entire album, and has had nothing but positive things to say about it. One of the comments that I was most excited to hear is that Plies isn't watering down his music. Even though he is getting his singles on the radio, he is keeping his music real and giving us the type of stuff that we want to hear!

Recently, Plies made a very cool announcement that every single Plies fan should be interested in. Plies launched a new contest looking for his number one fan. Although there are tons of Plies fans around the world, this contest will prove who is the biggest Plies fan of all. This contest is quite unique because it allows fans to send in anything from pictures to videos to prove that they are the biggest Plies fan ever. There is even a special phone number that has been setup for the contest that allows fans to call in and talk about why they are the number one Plies fan.
The top fans who enter this contest will get to be featured on Plies's very own MySpace page. Although this is great, Plies number one fan will get an even cooler experience. The winner of this contest will receive a one of a kind fan plaque that has been personally signed by Plies. To top things off, not only will the winner receive a call directly from Plies, but he will also record a custom voicemail message for the winner. This means that if you win and are Plies' number one fan, every single person who calls your phone will get to hear the message Plies recorded for you!
If you think you have what it takes to be the number one fan of Plies, you can find the rest of the entry information you need here.

August 4th -
In the eyes of most, Plies can be considered a successful young and
upcoming rapper. While he can't claim the same level of commercial
success as Lil Wayne, Plies latest album is selling well and his songs
(or those he is featured on) are getting good radio play.
As described in a previous article, Plies has started a non-profit
foundation to help children with incarcerated parents. With this kind
of effort, you would think that Plies is keeping himself grounded and
ensuring he doesn't let the success he achieves go to his head.
However, due to reports of some of his recent behavior, he may not be
quite as grounded as you would expect.
SOHH recently published an email from an
individual that experienced a taste of Plies ego driven behavior. As
the individual (who works within the music industry) was backstage
taking photographs, he and every other single person backstage was told
to clear the hallway. While many backstage thought this meant that
Jay-Z was going to make a special appearance, it turned out that it was
Plies. Additionally, he had a bodyguard and two police officers on
guard throughout the course of his performance. According to other
reports, Plies demands this treatment at every show he performs. While
all his fans hope for Plies success to continue to grow, if these
reports are true, he should take a moment to think about whether or not
his behavior will alienate his fans or those around him. As long as
Plies is able to focus on keeping a grounded approach to his work, the
sky will be the limit for his success.

Plies is going nation wide to promote his new album definition of the real starting with a tribute to his fans in the US military with a series of appearances in association with Army and air force. It’s great to see rappers doing things for the armed services.
I recently read the article on “Sohh blogs” about how they were invited to a listening session for the new plies album definition of the real, thing is the guy who wrote this gave a really negative image on plies, most of his article or 90% of it was just him having a cry about how he couldn’t bring his cell phone into the event. Their was no speak at all about the quality of the new album just his crying about the event.
